KMSPL - Who we are
The Kirkland Men's Slo-Pitch is more than just a softball league, it has become a social club, a gathering spot for friends, a place to enjoy a ball game and spend time with friends and family. Games are played every day of the week with the exception of Saturdays (reserved for rain outs) and Mondays.
Sundays are always the most special as the park turns into one big block party. The league supplies the BBQs and each team brings its own food and drinks and the good times kick off and go on until the last out of the night. This ritual is repeated every Sunday all season long, from the first pitch in early May to the last pitch in early October.
Beyond that, there are the numerous league organized activities, the team pool parties, all types of family oriented events and so much more. All with one goal in mind, to bring our members closer, give them a sense of community and hopefully create long lasting friendships. This is why the KMSPL is considered the 'best softball league' in Quebec.
Each year, in late April, the league goes through a complete redraft of its teams, so many of the friends and teammates of one season become friends but opponents the next. In this way the camaraderie and "spirit" of the league is enhanced. Lasting friendships have been built through the games, post game BBQ's, and other events such as the annual Golf day, early season KMSPL Family BBQ , Awards night, and the League Banquet. The community spirit of the league is also evident whenever the Town needs volunteers for its various events. The league's 208 players and 50+ spares are are a major source of volunteerism and give back to their community.
